How Expired Job Postings Work

Here’s how the expiration of job postings work on Pitch N Hire:

  • Standard Plan: Job postings automatically expire after one month.
  • Enterprise Plan: You can manually set the expiration date for each job posting.

All expired job postings can be found under the ‘Expired’ section on the ‘Job Postings’ page. You can choose to view them in either Table View or Card View.

To look up specific expired job postings, go step-by-step:

  • Navigate to the search bar at the top right corner of the ‘Expired’ section.
  • Click the dropdown icon in the search bar.
  • Select either ‘Department’ or ‘Title’.
  • Type the relevant keyword in the search bar.

The page will display expired job postings matching your search criteria.

When a job posting reaches its expiration date, it transitions to the ‘Expired’ section of the Job Postings page. Each expired job is represented by a card containing essential details:

  • Job ID: A unique identifier assigned to the job posting for reference and tracking purposes.
  • Job Role: The specific position title that was advertised.
  • Total Number of Applications Received: The count of candidates who submitted applications for the role.
  • Expiry Date: The exact date when the job posting was officially closed.
  • Location/Remote: Indicates whether the position was for a specific location or could be filled remotely.

To the right of this information, a series of quick action icons provide options for managing the expired job and its associated candidates. They are as follows (left to right):

Pipeline

Clicking the ‘Pipeline’ icon offers a comprehensive view of the candidate journey through the hiring process for that particular job. The pipeline is divided into stages reflecting the various steps involved in recruitment, such as applied, shortlisted, interviewed, etc.

  • My: Displays applications assigned to the currently logged-in user.
  • Unassigned: Shows applications that haven't been allocated to a specific recruiter or hiring manager.
  • All: Provides a complete list of all applications received for the expired job, regardless of assignment.

Duplicate

To repost an expired job, start by duplicating it. This action creates a draft of the original job posting, preserving all existing information. After duplication, you can find its copy under ‘Drafts’ on the left sidebar. Carefully review the job details, make necessary updates (such as adjusting the expiration date), and then publish the job to make it live again.

Archive

If you want to remove an expired job from active view but retain it for future reference, use the ‘Archive’ option. Archived jobs are moved to a separate ‘Archived’ section on the left sidebar within the Job Postings page.

To republish an archived job, follow these steps:

  • Locate the desired job in the ‘Archived’ section.
  • Click the ‘Duplicate’ icon on the archived job card.
  • Review and update the job details as needed.
  • Publish the duplicated job to make it live again.

Alternatively, you can permanently delete an archived job by using the ‘Delete’ icon.

Delete

The ‘Delete’ icon permanently removes the expired job and all associated data from the platform. This action is irreversible, so exercise caution before deleting.

Candidate Management for Expired Jobs

While a job may expire, the candidate data associated with it is retained. You can access candidate information through the ‘Pipeline’ icon on the expired job card. Each candidate is represented by an application card with several action options:

  • Unlock Application: Enables adding notes, editing and moving the candidate within the pipeline, even though the job is expired.
  • View Job Application: Accesses the candidate's submitted application materials.
  • Create Assessment: Sends an assessment to the candidate, allowing further evaluation.

Note : The options to add notes, edit candidate information, and move candidates are disabled for expired jobs unless the application is unlocked.

Unlocking an application provides flexibility in managing candidates beyond the job's expiration date.

Effectively utilizing these features lets you optimize your hiring processes, manage candidate pipelines efficiently, and potentially re-engage with qualified candidates for future opportunities.
